Encode list

Encoding, compressing various file formats is based on the encode list. Create a list of files you want encoded, set parameters (even on per file basis) and click Encode to process the list.
All supported file formats can be added to the list, tags will be preserved and automatically choosen if you select 'Automatic tagging' (default).

Double click on the list for the item's encoding properties.
You do not need to set each item's properties! Select the global output directory and a global encoding preset, and all items on the list which don't have these parameters set will be encoded with these global settings. All files will be encoded with the selected global encoding preset and will be output to the global output directory. Keep in mind if there are files with same name the last one will overwrite the previous one! If you want to add multiple files/folders use the file browser.
  • Checkmark Show bitrates to see the current encoding's MPEG frame bit rates.
  • Shutdown when finished: Shutdown mode should be set in settings:Display/Other.
  • Clear list after encoding has finished: After the encode list has been processed it will be cleared.
Encode list columns:
  • Filename: File for encoding.
  • Save As: Output file name.
  • Encoding Preset: Preset to use for encoding.
  • Delete Source: After encoding has finished the source file will be deleted. Note: There's no error checking so only use this if you are sure that the encoding will be successfull!
  • Taging formats: After the files are encoded they can be tagged with a selected tag file. Selected tag source file's tags will be converted to the selected tagging format.
  • Automatic tagging: MP4 Stream Editor will choose the proper tagging format.
  • Using tag: The file from which the tagging will be copied (can be for example a plain tag file for example when using the 'Export' function).
Click Encode to process the list.

Encoding progress info:
Shows various info about encoding progress.

Click Abort! to abort encoding of the current file or stop encoding completely (you will be prompted too choose one).
To extract audio data from audio CDs (CDDA), .cda files can be added to the encode list, but it's a better idea to use the Audio CD Track Grabbing function as it has more options (automatic tag generation from cddb/freedb, etc.).
